Old Leightonians Golf Day

All Old Leightonians, Honorary Old Leightonians and Honorary members of the Old Leightonians Cricket Club are invited to join the OLCC for its first-ever official Golf Day.

The Golf Day takes place on Friday 1 April 2005 at Bishopswood Golf Club in Tadley, with the start time provisionally set around midday. Exact timings will be confirmed nearer the date. The cost will be £24 per person, to include 18 holes and a finger buffet after the round.

The event promises to be an excellent day for some serious-yet-jovial sporting competition and will provide the opportunity to meet Old Leightonians from different generations and perhaps rekindle some old acquaintances.

To this end, any OLs who would like to attend but not play golf are more than welcome to join the party in the clubhouse afterwards (subject to the dress code outlined below).

Those wishing to participate will find an on-line application form by clicking the link at the top of this page, but should first bear in mind the following points:

If you wish to stipulate a chosen playing partner, please do so in the space at the bottom of the booking form. We will endeavour to allocate playing groups on an age or acquaintance basis.
Likewise if you would like a vegetarian option at the buffet afterwards, please indicate this on the form.
Correct golf attire must be worn, ie: golf shoes, tailored trousers and a shirt with a collar. For those of hardier stock, tailored shorts may be worn but only with white knee-length socks.
Golfers should let us know their handicap if they have one, or have a realistic guess. It is a competition although fun remains the underlying motive!
Golfers will not be allowed to share clubs, so they must have their own set. They may also wish to brush up on their golf etiquette before April 1.
The dress code for the clubhouse is: shoes only, no jeans, no trainers, smart dress please. A shirt and trousers or a suit will be required. Changing facilities are available at the clubhouse.
Golfers may purchase lunch on arrival at the clubhouse if they wish, but this will not be included in the cost of the day.
The cheque for £24 should be made payable to Old Leightonians Cricket Club and posted directly to the club secretary Philip Samuels. Please contact the organisers (see top of page) for the address.
All applications to play that are made on-line will be acknowledged by e-mail, and this acknowledgement will include full payment instructions. If you prefer to signal your participation by telephone or letter, please contact the organisers by e-mail in the first instance.
