HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLCC

27/02/01: There's yet another candle to be blown out on the OLCC cake as the club celebrates the 24th anniversary of its inception way back in 1977.

It was on Sunday 27 February 1977 that the OLCC was officially founded at its first ever Winter Meeting.

Commenting on the signifcance of the date, Club President Graham Carter told the OLCC website:

"This was the date of the first winter meeting - when a large crowd of two gathered at The Jolly Farmer at Puttenham near Guildford to form the club and arrange the fixtures - all eight of them in 1977."

The club is now in its 25th anniversary season. A programme of jovialities is planned to mark this momentous year, culminating in the 25th Annual Dinner to be held at Wokefield Park on Saturday 17 November.
