13/07/01: Cricket Week came to an end in something of a damp squib as the OLCC lost to Incogniti by six wickets.
In a rain-hit game, the OLCC struggled to 186 for eight, taking 63 overs to post their total. Paul Newell Price continued his excellent batting form, his 75 not out taking him to 329 runs so far this season.
A heavy downpour towards the start of the Incogniti innings made fielding conditions extremely difficult and the OLCC soon started to leak runs. Two early wickets gave the home side hope and Graham Carter's stunning catch kept the game alive at 130 for three.
But the Incogs raced away and knocked off the runs for the loss of four wickets inside 29 overs, achieving their second consecutive win at Leighton Park.
Turncoat Julian Shackel helped the Incogs' cause with a miserly spell of bowling that contributed to the OLCC's low run rate.
