2001 DRAWS TO A CLOSE

13/09/01: The OLCC brought the curtain down on their 2001 campaign with an honourable draw against Moreton.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat, the OLCC batsmen all offered good contribtutions, with David Pollard (46) and Jon Shingles (45*) leading the way. Mike Thomas also added a rapid 31 as the visitors ran up 233 for eight declared.

A solid reply from Moreton followed with each of the OLCC's six bowlers claiming a wicket apiece. In the end the hosts ran out of overs still 10 runs adrift and so the 2001 season ended with a good-spirited and entertaining draw.
