No nonsense please. Bish bash bosh.

It's good to see Dan back this season, and quickly doubling his appearances. His first 2 appearances for the club were seperated by 16 years and yielded the false batting and bowling averages of 6.00 and 51.00 respectively. His 1st appearance was in 1989, a year after leaving the school. His second was a call up in 2005 for the Brewers Cup side that went up against 10 Old Tauntonians + 1 from Somerset IIs.

What happened in those intervening 16 years ? Was he farming alpacas in the Andean foothills ? Searching for the true source of the Amazon ? Cage fighting in the back streets of Jakarta ? Offer him a large bottle of single malt and a long night in a highland bothy, and he'll, more than likely, tell you.

Anyway, in two games this season he has already gone some way to putting his cricketing record straight with two powerful 40s and a clutch of wickets with his heavy medium pace. His belligerent batting and infectious joie de vivre are a very welcome, and hard to miss addition to the OLCC landscape. RCNP
