N.A.Jackson has made 43 appearances for the OLs in a career savaged by the arrival of 3 young boys at a seminal moment in his career. Just as his trademark cover drive was threatening to raise his career average into double figures, the challenges of fatherhood have restricted his appearances at representative level. His bowling is laced with variation and with his ability to produce the odd killer delivery he might be considered an under-utilised weapon with the ball. Neale or ‘Wacko Jacko’ as he is known in the changing room, is surely one of those cricketers whose bowling average should swap with his batting average. Wacko is a valuable addition to any touring team and a deserved 1998 tour joker. Never knowingly outshone in the joker juice department he lists Bee-keeping, Chemistry and "The History of British Steam" as his interests. JSS
