Q: Which fixture are you most looking forward to in 2001?

The decision to re-run last year's successful President's XI fixture has been backed by OLCC members in our latest online poll.

21% of voters said that the fixture that gave them the most cause for fervent anticipation in 2001 was the President's XI game, to be played on Sunday June 24.

A jubilant Graham Carter, who will be managing the day's proceedings, told the OLCC website: "I am certainly very pleased to hear that this fixture has won the vote and I imagine it is as the result of the particularly enjoyable day had last year."

He added that preparations for this season's fixture were well under way, saying: "Some members of the President's XI side have already been confirmed including one gentleman who has written from Malta to accept his invitation."

Second place in the poll went to the Brewers Cup Final, which 18% of members were most looking forward to in spite of the fact that the OLCC has never reached, or looked like reaching, that stage of the competition.

And there was welcome news at last for Tom Gillmor, much derided after the West Country tour - under his management - scored a paltry 5% in the favourite tour of 2000 poll. He will manage the away fixture at Holyport, which came third with 12% of the vote.
