OLCC vs Jordans Taverners CC

Originally envisaged as an 11.30 start, the opposition had called in to say that five of the team were unable to play before 1.00pm, so that’s when we started; having given lunch a miss.

OLCC batted on a good enough track on a warm and pleasant day. Guv captained and opened up with Gillers, but departed caught behind. Gillers quickfire 33 left the middle order to make hay. Seb’s 73 and Will Mackay’s 45 being of note whilst the innings was completed with a flourish by the Narayasamy’s (Nat and Shreyas) to leave OLCC at 249-5 after 40 overs.

After an early tea Jordans started off well enough, reaching 88-1 and looking set to challenge. However some tight bowling by Mikey Storey, and Vikesh put the pressure on, and their captain C.Yolland was caught by Jacko in the deep off Will McKay for 73. Subsequently the innings subsided despite the late introduction of Neale 'Jacko' Jackson into the attack; leading to some disturbance of the bird life in the Forest of Arden.

The innings closed at 210, leaving OLCC to celebrate a comfortable and most enjoyable win.

OLCC win by 39 runs
